“I love the concept of being a photographer. Simplistically I hold a camera, focus it on a chosen subject and record what is before me. I can then view or print the image and it would not be incorrect to call this the complete photographic process. However within that captured image will be content that to the viewer will hold more than just areas of highlights and shadows within a composition. That viewer’s life journey has created an investment in emotions and the real message from that same image communicates with these emotions. To me true photography is about creating this type of valued communication. To be placed in a situation, either in the field or at an event, where I can capture these images is a true privilege. I truly appreciate your interest in my photography and hope my images communicate with you.” – Tony Warrilow

A journey of twenty five years
In 1987 Tony began his journey in the photography industry. Within two years he was the principal wedding photographer at one of Sydney’s leading studios. With a fresh dynamic style influenced by the masters of fashion he quickly became the “photographer of choice” for discerning couples. The images he produced were regularly published in all the bridal magazines of the time. Around 1990 Tony started Society photography, a Sydney based studio that specialised in wedding and portrait photography. Society photography went from strength to strength and what started out as a one-man show steadily grew to four full time photographers all producing exceptional work to the studio style. Tony was an early exponent of the candid style and this combination of fashion and storytelling images created a more complete wedding coverage. It is the basis of his current photographic style. In 2007 Tony left Society Photography and is now based in Margaret River where he continues to shoot a small number of weddings each year.
Wedding Photography
His style remains a consistent blend of candid/storytelling and fashion art images. He has both album and “image only” packages. In conjunction with his fine art and wedding photography he also offers his clients small run/one off prints of exceptional quality from their wedding photography. These prints are produced on a fine art paper and with selected framing produce sophisticated art pieces for gifts and for your home. Ten couples per year choose Tony to photograph their wedding.
