Situated on the coastal ridge line this family home enjoys a sweeping outlook across the Indian Ocean. The living areas takes full advantage of these views. Despite it’s position on top of the ridge line, when looking back at the house from a distance it sits within the profile of the hillside.
The build is the end result of a several years of planning and review. The materials complement the local environment and you can see other new homes in the immediate area drawing on some of the features of the design.
The position of the house is just back from the coast and the occupants, a young family, are regular beach goers. A Warrahwillah print was chosen to bring an art piece into the house that represented both the area and their ocean lifestyle.
The image “Refracting Glass” was chosen. This image is full of contrasts. The wave itself is twisted and strong yet the rebounding lip is delicate and full of detail. The colours in the image are rich with deep golds, chocolates and aqua blues. These aqua blues are very much a colour of the moment.
In this instance Refracting Glass has been finished as an acrylic mounted triplet with an overall width of 200cm. Acrylic and high gloss metal finishes compliment a more contemporary décor.
A second Warrahwillah print has been used at the entrance way to ground level living areas. In this instance image “Giant Rainbow” has been framed in a white box moulding. In keeping with the contemporary feel the framing is a floating mount.
As with all Warrahwillah images Refracting Glass and Giant Rainbow can be finished in a variety of formats to suit your requirements. For further details contact Tony on 0422 523 393.
