I’m having a southern ocean moment.
Yesterday morning I stood at the mouth of the Frankland River. Absolutely pristine. A variety of sea life was present. Sea eagles and wedge tail eagles flew past. The flaura was extensive and untouched by humans. The sunrise broke over the headland at the far end of the bay and golden light spilled over me. Serene.
In stark contrast and only an hour later I found myself on a cliff top at an exposed stretch of the coast. Huge seas pounded the shoreline. A bombora tripped up the approaching swells and plumes of spray twisted in the wind.
Serenity was replaced by respect and an underlying fear for the power on display.
Visually it was an extravaganza. One of my best days shooting ever.
Here is a taste but without doubt some of the images will be featured in the Warrahwillah gallery.
Enjoy.
