This week we lost another surfer to a shark attack.
I know the spot where he was taken, so beautiful. On it’s day it’s a punchy little sand sucking barrel. The boogie riders round here go really hard and they love it. Full credit to them. No doubt Kyle got his share.
The first image is at the location where Kyle lost his life. I don’t like naming spots but under the circumstances I will. This is Boneyards late one night last year. It was an evening that glowed. And it will glow in the future and when I see it I will pass a thought for Kyle Burden a friend, a son and a surfer.
Today at dawn I was back down the beach shooting. Lots of sets but not many empties. Great waves barrelling off down the bank. Plenty of stand ups and plenty of boogies getting amongst it.
The waves in the second photo came right through the pack and was close to the best of the dawn session. Nobody took it.
Hey Kyle, this one is for you mate.
