Another dawn by the sea.
A scattering of other surfers and myself shared the lineup with masses of herring, a school of dolphins and one rather large whale frolicking just offshore.
I’m really loving the “early” to the point of disappointment when I sleep through the 4.50am alarm. Today I shot with a slightly longer lens. Much harder to get right. Positioning, timing and prepared focus are key and I have a way to go. Full credit to the other water photographers who always seem to have it pin sharp. Check out Russell Ord and Jamie Scott. Both exceptional shooters.
Having said that I am quite happy with the images and will use them as a base to work from. Let me know what you think.
On a separate note I have been going through the final stages of print preparation for my best images. The final hurdle is getting the image colour and contrast matching between computer and printer.
The first release is very close. This series will be in limited numbers. It is the first of the first so pretty special. I will advise the people who have registered for the “photographer’s journal” prior to on my general website. If you are at all interested then please register on my home page.
Enough of this. Enjoy the images and tell me what you do and don’t like. I love feed back.

I love love love that 2nd image, front on to the wave. Just makes the pull to return south a little stronger.
