I took the back road north last week.

This route takes you up onto the New England tablelands before you drop back down to the coast near home. Typically there is less traffic and it’s a pleasant rural variation to the well trodden coast road.

Around 60 kms short of Armidale a mass of clouds started developing to the north.  For an hour I continued towards the thunderheads and just outside Armidale they really let go.
