Nhu and Simon
For sometime now there has been a growing trend towards a more relaxed wedding ceremony in both content and location. Beaches, parks, forests and vineyards all seem to be in the mix. Bridal party and guests marvel at the natural beauty of these chosen venues. Culturally we seem to be drawn to this “modern wedding” atmosphere.
But I must say how refreshing and beautiful it was to be back in a traditional house of worship for Nhu and Simon’s ceremony. The chapel at the Catholic Education Office was magnificent.
Typical to these building (and I use that word with all respect), I had forgotten about the stained glass windows, the domineering pipes of the organ, the detail in the stone work and the architectural brilliance of the ceiling. So much beauty that the skilled from a previous generation have created for us.
Then there is the human touch of the family priest overseeing the ceremony with a credibility matching the more traditional environment.
I could go on about the spectacular grounds, the fashion of the guests and other highlights of the wedding day but I will just say this. There was a splendour to Nhu and Simon’s wedding that I loved.
I was welcomed into the couple’s home. I was welcomed into the family home. I loved the chapel. Nhu’s gown/shoes/details were super “bling”. Frasiers in King’s Park provided their always excellent service and the dance floor took a serious beating. (these guys danced all night).
Congratulations to all on this very special day. It was a pleasure and an honour to be there.
